I am writing to document the post-operation moments as they passed by from Friday 30th September 2011 date of the lasik operation I had at the Beirut LASIK Center until Saturday 1st October 2011 date of my first post-operation visit to you Dr. Samer.
I want to thank you Dr. with your team for your professionalism; you give your patient a sense of comfort and hope that all is well and all will be fine; indeed that was. Everything during the operation went smoothly, no delay, no pain; everything was under control. The operation took something like twenty minutes.
Afterwards, Dr. Mneimneh gave me an appointment for the next day, eye drops in a little bag with free googles to put on while sleeping to protect my eyes, and advised me to take my Panadol pills just in case the pain is unbearable.
I was under the impression that I will need someone to guide me or to take my hand to walk me out of the center. To my surprise, I went out alone with a slightly blurred vision. I was able to see everything; my mother accompanied me, she only walked by my side. The only thing that I regret that I did not have my sunglasses with me to put on to protect my eyes from the sun and dust.
By the time I reached home, the local anesthetic effect vanished. I started feeling little grains in my eyes, but always without any pain. But, I started to shed tears and to blow my nose as if I had some cold.
I remained in tears from around noon until 16:00 hrs when I started my eyes’ drops treatment, then everything slowed down; the tears and the feeling of having grains in my eyes. I sat comfortably in front of the TV watching the news and I cannot describe my joy when I realized that I was reading the moving news strip at the bottom of the screen. I never was able to read it without wearing my long distance eye glasses. Moreover, I was able to see every single detail in the room, even the little tiny remains that fall off on the floor. Someone advised me to have a couple of Panadol to have a "Better Sleep”, so I did. When I woke up in the morning everything was perfect, no blurred vision, no pain, no discomfort – nothing at all until today, which is my fourth day after the operation.
This is just great. Words cannot describe my gratitude Dr. Samer.
I cannot but thank God Almighty that I did not go to any other ophthalmologist to have my lasik operation.
I wish you the best of success because you deserve it. God bless you!
With all my sincere best and kind regards.
